  • Description: *Currently Unavailable* Use: To detect the presence of hydrocarbon, as well as its gravity if a chart is used. Instructions: Place a clean, dry sample in a watch glass. Add trichloroethylene to cover the sample to twice its depth and place it under a UV light. Results: If hydrocarbon is present, it will appear as a patch like color on top of trichloroethylene. Also look for individual chip bleeding for streaming. Color will vary from white through blue yellow to dark brown. Note: Do not mix with water or wet samples. Trichloroethylene, Carbon tetrachloride and Xylene are carcinogens.
